Wedding Stress

Well now that I am engaged, the biggest question everyone asks is when is the date? People I have been engaged for a week you cannot plan a wedding that fast! Weddings are a huge deal and you need to start planning a year in advance so I can see where the stress can start to kick in. My ultimate goal is not to stress though, how you ask how? The answer is the internet.

The internet actually takes a lot of the planning stress off of you because there are so many ideas out there. Everything is at the click of a button, I think it is easier to plan a wedding now more than ever because whatever you want it can be found somewhere online and I love it. I don't have a date set yet but I began looking at some ideas for my wedding like cakes, venues, and dresses. It's really nice to be able to browse at home and at your own pace. I want to make it easy on all you brides to be out there and share some really helpful websites that I came across, so here they are:

The Knot

Wedding Wire

Allure

These were just a few of my favorites, I hope they help make it a little easier for you. Try not to stress!

My Engagment !!!

So the greatest thing happened to me over the weekend, I got engaged! I am going to share my story with all of you , in hopes of you sharing your story with me. My boyfriend of six years completely threw me off guard on Thursday, February 20th, 2014. Normally I work until 8 p.m. on Thursdays but a co-worker of mine was nice enough to switch shifts with me so I could spend the day with my boyfriend on his birthday. I went over his house when I got out of work to give him his gift. This is how the rest went...

He asked me why I got him something, and I said "Well it's your birthday of course I got you something". He said "Well I didn't want that. Do you know what the best birthday present would be? If you would marry me" and he pulled out the ring and I immediately said yes! This was the single best moment of my life, I get to marry my high school sweetheart and the love of my life. Now it's my time not only to help you all plan your wedding and give you great ideas, but to plan one for myself.

Here is a picture of my ring, he's definitely a keeper!

CAKES!!!

Have you ever thought of how you want your dream wedding cake to be like? I thought I knew what I wanted until I started looking, there are just to many choices! I came up with a list of pictures that I want to share with you of different designs of cakes. I think that this is one of the most fun parts of the wedding is designing the cake because you can do anything you want. The problem is deciding. So for the first picture I am going to share with you is your classic 3-tier cake with the running fountain underneath. This was and is still a very popular cake with people and is pretty generic. The lighting with the fountain just dresses it up so much.

My grandma use to make cakes, now she cant with her arthritis but she made beautiful cakes like these. She made quite a few for people like this next one and it's absolutely beautiful. It consist of several cakes and tiers with loads of decoration. This is definitely one to consider especially if you are going to have a big wedding.

I wish my grandma could still make cakes because everyone of these cakes she has made and they are absolutely gorgeous maybe that's why it is so hard to choose. This next cake is really nice because it looks exactly like a church. This one doesn't use to many of the tiers but is cake upon cake stacked on another. Instead of the bride and groom being towards the top of the cake they are in front of the church which i think is just great!

This next one I have never seen anything like it. Half the cake is your traditional wedding style but then it seems to split into a delicate chocolate frosting. There is almost no way to describe this one you will have to see for yourself. This is something I would consider if you wanted to do something different, and it looks fantastic!

Lastly, there are just so many options that I could share with you but this would go on forever. I tried to throw some traditional cakes that we have all seen but a few different that you may have never seen. Now this one makes it easy, if you don't want to go through the trouble of cutting all the pieces of cake these are already all separated. Don't freak out though the top is a small cake so the bride and groom and still cut into something.

Let me know what styles of cakes you like, I would love to know!

Winter Wonderland

Hello everyone,

Well with all this snow in Michigan has been pelted with it inspired me to think of some ideas. I know we say we are sick of the snow here in the mid-west, but the snow can bring out the best for weddings.

First off in engagement photos the snow makes for an excellent scenery. Here are some beautiful engagement photos I pulled off the internet with a beautiful snowy scenery.

Just like the sand on the beach, you can draw anything you want in the snow. Here we see a giant heart (which is symbolic for love) with the couple in the middle. Other good ideas I thought of to write in the snow is the date you got engaged, your names, snow angels, etc.

What better way to enjoy the snow then cuddled up under a blanket with the one you love. What a beautiful picture of this couple.

Last but not least, this next photo is a wonderful idea for a picture of the ring. Just be careful not to lose it in the snow!

Winter themed weddings are gorgeous! I feel people try and stay away from winter because all they think about is the cold. Well I am here to show you how beautiful they really are. Here is a link to a slideshow with everything you need for a perfect winter wedding!

What is it with all the camo?

Camo is a short term for the word camouflage. Camo is a huge growing trend and I blame it on Duck Dynasty! Ever since this show started I feel I have seen more and more camo everywhere and people are catching onto this trend. Camo has grown so huge that people are now incorporating it into the themes of their weddings. Yes you heard that right, no more all white dress, people are starting to change and companies are catching on.

For the women check these dresses out:

For the men check these tuxedos out:

Yes they have rings and accesories:

What is everyone's opinion on this? I personally like it a lot for the outdoorsy type people, I think it would be really cute and different. If you want to be trendy and stand out I would suggest this!

Destination Wedding Spots

For this week I personally picked out some really cool places it would be to have a destination wedding based off everyone’s suggestions on Facebook and Twitter. Here are the hot spots!
1.) Bahamas

When you think of a destination wedding the Bahamas is definitely one of the first things that come to my mind. The sights of the clear blue water and sandy beaches just pull me right in. Not only would this be a great place to have a wedding but a vacation too! That is exactly what the people your bringing along are going to get. The Bahamas offers the famed Atlantis resort hotel from poolside bars to a water slide through a shark tank its got it all.
2.) Hawaii
Again Hawaii is another one of those places offering beautiful beaches and scenery with several islands there are many different places to choose from. The most remote island being Lanai, here you enjoy exclusiveness away from the crowds if you want to have a peaceful time I suggest visiting this island. Another wonderful island Hawaii has to offer is Kauai which offers beautiful scenery of cliffs and canyons and also has been voted for one of the best beaches in America. Maui is an island people are more familiar with. Maui is more populated so if you like the city life I suggest going here. Maui also offers the historic whale watching sites and there is plenty to do for you and your guests while you are here and that's a fact.
3.) Paris
Better known as the city of love. This would be an amazing spot to get married. Paris offers historic churches and sites famous around the world. Just think, putting a picture up in your house with your significant other and the Eiffel Tower being in the background, nothing is more romantic than that. With beautiful scenery of a historic Europe this would be an ideal spot for a destination wedding.

These are just a few spots I picked from the list however there is so many places in the world to go and have a wedding. The world we live in offers beautiful places for you and your love to wed. Just remember this day is special have it how you want it because it is your one big day everyone is celebrating the love you have for one another. Pick a spot where you are going to be comfortable, can have the best time of your life and make it memorable. I can only help guide you to some places but ultimately the choice is yours. What do you guys think of these choices from the list above?  Would you pick any of these spots for your dream wedding?

My First Blog Post

Hey Everyone! Well the title says it, this is my first blog post. I really wanted to blog about something I can relate to, so I decided my blog is going to be about weddings. Yes weddings! This blog will be your hottest spot for wedding ideas, locations, dresses, rings, you name it. Recently my boyfriend of six years and I have been talking about taking the next step and getting engaged (which means I better start preparing), so I thought this would be a great time to start looking at wedding stuff. Not only can I share all the great things with you, but it would be awesome to get insight and ideas from other people. For us women this is one of the most important days of our life; hence we want it to be perfect with the one we love. Recently there has been an article floating around social media that I thought was really great. 20 Qualities The Person You Love Should Have puts insight on what a relationship should be all about. A lot of people jump into marriage without thinking and this is such a good list. Just scrolling on my Facebook news feed I had seen five people who posted this on their wall and I had just started looking at my news feed. Let me know what you think!
